Hello dear AI enthusiast!
Did you catch my recent post about how to make AI-generated content sound more like a human wrote it? If not, you can read it here.
And in this post, I’m sharing with you 3 additional tips on the same topic.
🎥 If you’d rather watch the detailed tutorial video, watch it on my YouTube channel here.
💡You can use the tips and prompts below with ChatGPT or any other AI tool you have access to.
➡️ Tip #1: Friendly prompts
When writing your prompts for ChatGPT or another AI tool, it’s good to do it in natural language. The way you talk. Many of us already treat ChatGPT like a remote assistant. Or a smart intern. So let’s try talking to it like we’re actually talking to a person.
Imagine you’re catching up with a friend who knows nothing about your job/business. You would try to explain to them what it is that you do, in very simple terms. You’d give them context to make sure they understand better.
Imagining you’re having a conversation helps you frame your prompts in a clearer, more detailed and more natural way (a friendly way!).
❌ So, instead of saying ‘Write a blog post about the benefits of my company’s new yoga mat’, you can say:
✏️ “I need help writing a blog post about my company’s new yoga mat. The mat is for busy mums who do yoga at home because they haven’t got the time to go to a class. Can you write it like you're a mum who uses this mat and loves it?”
See the difference? In the second one, we're having a conversation and giving context, using more natural, conversational language. The result will be more natural (and more human!) as well.
➡️ Tip #2: The ‘show me’ method
If we’re treating AI like an assistant, then let’s image it’s an actual person. If you’re trying to train an actual person in writing in a certain way, what’s the best way to get started? You guessed it – show them some examples.
So, the ‘show me’ method is all about showing ChatGPT (or another AI tool) what you mean exactly before prompting for content.
This prompt is not great:
❌ 'Write a professional email to ask about a project timeline.'
The output will be bland. Generic.
Here’s a better one:
✏️ “Write an email to ask about a project timeline that sounds like this: Hey Sarah! Just checking in about that project timeline we discussed. I know things have been crazy busy...”
So you haven’t just shown it an example. You’ve also given it an indication of the kind of tone you’re after.
👩🏻🏫 I demonstrate how to do this exactly, with more examples, and show you some screen recordings in my video tutorial on my YouTube channel. Don’t forget to subscribe!
➡️ Tip #3: Read it out loud
To make your AI-generated content sound more human, read it out loud. It’s a super-underrated tip which I’ve learnt over the years working in content and UX.
😬 If it sounds weird when you say it, it’ll sound weird when people read it. For example:
AI might write: ‘This approach will be beneficial for your business’. Eek!
But a human would just say: ‘This will help your business.’
It’s something people don’t get taught much these days but it’s a wonderful tip.
If you wouldn’t say it, don’t write it. Simple!

I’ll be back next week with more tips!
Take care,
