Hello dear AI enthusiast!
In this issue of Everyday AI Made Easy, I want to share some productivity tips that will save you hours. They are appropriate for ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, or any other AI tool you have access to.
You can watch my YouTube video instead, or just keep reading.
⏰ Inverse problem solving
This time-saving AI hack is about ‘inverse problem solving’.
Instead of asking for a solution, give the AI the solution and ask it to deduce the underlying cause. This uses its reasoning in reverse.
💡 For example: "I achieved a 40% reduction in customer churn last quarter. Acting as a business analyst, deduce the three most likely contributing changes in my recent sales funnel or product updates that would logically account for this result."
If you’re using ChatGPT, you can upload various documents for context (like email copy, product descriptions, sales page copy). If you’re using Gemini or Copilot, you can refer the chat to specific documents inside your workspace.
⏰ Self-correction
Imagine you’re writing a project proposal to send off to your boss. Once you’ve done it, the boss gives you feedback, then you have to make changes, rewrite it, send it again, get more feedback. But what if you wanted to speed up this process? You could ask AI to critique a piece of work from a particular perspective and then rewrite it based on that critique.
💡For example: "Draft a project proposal for [insert topic and context]. Once complete, assume the persona of a skeptical Chief Financial Officer and write a 100-word critical assessment of the proposal's financial risks. Finally, rewrite the original proposal, directly addressing and mitigating the CFO's points."
So this helps you automate the entire revision cycle, and improve the robustness and quality of your output. Your boss may still give feedback, but at least you’ve mitigated some of the risks.
